WoW64 is only an optional feature in a Server Core installation. That’s the “command line only” kind of configuration used in a high security environment, not the kind of system you can convert into a desktop using the instructions on this site.

In Windows Server 2008 R2, WoW64 is really an optional feature.

WOW64 subsystem is always installed. It is not an optional component.

The error when installing as administrator was:
File not found – System32
File not found – SysWOW64

Arris: Make sure you first extract the zip and not run the .cmd directly from the zip. Also, verify the signature of the file which can be checked by hovering over the filename at this page.

could you not just install the latest DirectX? I have done this and dont seem to have an issue with games that use DirectX…

But maybe im missing games that are special to this issue?
